It has been tough years since oil price plunged below $50 in 2014 that significantly impacted most of professionals working in oil industry especially in Calgary or other cities in Alberta. The oil price crisis hit badly causing job cuts and challenging job market condition particularly for job seekers.

Biography: Joy Cohen
Joy has 10+ years of consulting experience spans 4 key areas: career and employment advising, recruitment practices, résumé development and facilitating diverse adult learner groups in person and online. Industry career advising experience: Education, Health, Manufacturing, Construction, Government, Telecommunications, Engineering, and Oil and Gas. She has worked with candidates from the Blue Collar to the Executive Level.

Joy has completed numerous candidate résumé development projects on behalf of Recruitment firms so that their candidates can be shown in their best possible light to potential employers. She also planned, developed and carried out the initial stages of BESTT (Bridge for Engineering Science Technology Talent) Program in collaboration with an existing and growing network of volunteers, community groups, and key stakeholders in government, industry, and academia in Alberta.
