WOMEN WANTED: The Sedna Epic Expedition is delighted to announce a women’s leadership program and winter snorkel expedition and to Tromso, Norway, November 22-December 1, 2020, with our partner Waterproof Cruises & Expeditions.

Every winter, snorkelers and wildlife enthusiasts alike witness to one of the great wildlife spectacles on the planet—orcas and humpbacks congregating in remote Norwegian fjords above the Arctic Circle to feed on vast schools of herring.

During November 22-25, the Sedna Epic will run a leadership program in Tromso, Norway, discussing women’s growing representation in exploration and STEMM (Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Medicine) careers.

During the leadership program we hope to connect with Sami women—much like we’ve connected with Inuit women and girls during Sedna’s expeditions—to better understand this part of the Arctic, its history, geography, and the culture and traditions of its Indigenous people.

Following the leadership program, Sedna’s sea women will spend November 25-December 1, 2020, aboard the MV Freya, snorkelling with orcas and humpbacks and undertaking scientific research.

Team Sedna is looking for women with the ‘right stuff’: explorers, adventurers, scientists, movie-makers, photographers, historians, artists, journalists, educators, scuba divers, snorkelers and students… Our team ranges in age from 20 to mid-seventies…

So, don’t hesitate! If you’re interested, please send your resume and biography to susan@sednaepic.com.

The Sedna Epic has no paid employees and volunteerism is a cornerstone of our expeditions. Please tell us how you can assist us in the planning and execution of this expedition—whether it’s delivering lectures, doing social media, designing curriculum, undertaking photography and videography or fundraising through grant application and partnerships.

Sedna’s non-refundable admin fee ($USD 150) is payable upon acceptance in the expedition. Waterproof’s non-refundable, 20 percent deposit (800 Euros) is payable upon acceptance in the expedition. The remainder of Waterproof’s fee (3,200 Euros) is due 90 days prior to departure or on August 25, 2020.

Please note that flights, transfers, and hotels and meals in Tromso are not included in the costs described above.
