Chelsea completed her MSc in Electromagnetic Hydrocarbon Exploration from Memorial University in 2016 and has spent her time exploring and developing the Montney ever since. She has worked Alberta Montney with Shell, processed for the Montney with Earth Signal Processing, and has planned and executed over 30 lateral wells in her time at Painted Pony Energy Ltd. As with many geophysicists, she is currently active in leveraging her analytical knowledge using new advances in data analysis and is perusing a graduate diploma in Data Science at the University of Calgary.
Chelsea has been continuously involved with STEM organizations, particularly those that involve the promotion of women and university students. During her tenure as president of the SEG chapter at Memorial, the chapter was granted the Summit award as one of the top 10% of chapters globally. Her work with the CSEG, Let’s Talk Science, and mental health advocacy granted her the Memorial University Chancellor’s Award for leadership upon graduating. She currently holds several positions with the CSEG including Chair of the University Student Outreach Committee.
As the daughter of two phys ed teachers, Chelsea stays active as a competitive Olympic Weightlifter and is passionate on sharing the benefits of physical fitness for mental well-being. When she’s not on the lifting platform, her and her partner are actively exploring Calgary’s live music community.
